ENDORSEMENTS
"I have had the benefit of Reid Baker's eye and photographic expertise on a number of different projects. I am repeatedly amazed at the sensitivity of Reid's approach to vastly different kinds of art objects. I am thinking of the contrast between a group of ceramic pieces and a set of illuminated sculpture. With each body of work, Reid found innovative lighting and staging strategies which complimented the work incredibly. Reid actually drew out things from my work, in photographic image, that I hadn't been aware of before. Whenever people see the image, they comment on how striking it is. Reid's nuanced lighting techniques together with his understanding of both traditional and high end digital, makes him a rarity in his field. I have worked with many different photographers in my years, and Reid's talents have proven to be unmatched. His insistence on perfection produces some of the most crisply illuminated images I've ever seen. The intensely focused time he spends on a single shot always rewards us with an amazingly strong image - sensitive to form, and always nicely balanced in composition. Reid's working style is open and collaborative, but he is a stickler for the best he can achieve, and simply doesn't compromise. He doesn't rush things through for the sake of a quicker job, but is still able to produce the highest quality work under harsh deadlines. I've been spoiled by the level of Reid's work. I enjoy the confidence of putting together presentations and submitting print-ready work that has the benefit of his true gifts as a photographer."

"Working as a Specialist in 18th & 19th century furniture, sculpture, and decorative arts at Christie's for 15 years, Reid Baker was the photographer I chose over all others. Reid is efficient, fastidious, timely - and the most creative with all the work that he is given. Working for an auction house can be very difficult. Every item must be illustrated and effectively marketed to bring out all the possibilities, and the photographers are charged with this duty. Every piece must shine its brightest, as it is on the block for only 30 seconds. Reid always manages to bring out the best in every item while orchestrating group as well as individual shots at a pace of 30 to 40 shots a day - all executed with quality as his top priority."
